Why is my GPS Map Not Updating?

How GPS Works:

For the device to be able to report it's GPS location, it needs to be able to communicate with one or more of the GPS satellites orbiting in space. Ordinarily, if the device is outside - this is not a problem as there is a clear line of sight between the device and sky.

However, problems can occur if the device is indoors within a building which restricts the signal through to the GPS satellites.

By default, the device requests a location every 15 minutes and in order to complete this successfully, there must be a GPS signal (this is different from the mobile data signal).
