Basic Principle of Presence Detection

Technology Used
Presence sensors use modern 4D radar technology to determine if the room is occupied or vacant. These sensors contain no cameras or microphones.

Room Presence Detection
Presence Sensors are able to detect if a person is in a room or not. If a person is detected in the room, the AVERio application will show a status of "Occupied":

Once the person leaves the room, this status will update to show as "Vacant":

Sub Region Detection

Presence sensors have the ability to configure up to 4 separate sub regions within a room. This could be used to create a sub region for the sofa, or for the bed.

By configuring a sub region for the bed, alerts can be set to notify you when the service users gets up from bed in the night.

When the sub region is occupied, this is highlighted in the Activity Overview table within the AVERio application:

Scanning Frequency
By default, the presence sensor scans the room every 60s to determine if a person is present or not.
