Alert Examples & Expected Behaviour

Overview

With AVERio alerts enabled, the application will raise an alert once the specific alert criteria is met for each sensor. This article explains when to expect alerts, how often specific alert rules trigger, and how re-alerts are managed.

The system only raises ONE alert per rule at any one time. This means if there is a pending alert that has not yet been actioned, subsequent alerts for the specific rule will not be raised.

Motion Sensor Alerts

Alerts for motion sensors are triggered once per day. If no motion has been detected by the configured time each day, an alert will be triggered in the AVERio portal. Once this alert has been actioned or dismissed, no subsequent alerts will be raised that day.

Bed Sensor Alerts

An alert will be triggered each time the criteria is met, providing there are no current pending alerts for the bed sensor.

Example: an alert is raised due to the service user being out of bed for more than 5 minutes. The service user returns to bed, but the alert is not resolved by a member of staff.

Then, 30 minutes later the service user then gets out of again for more than 5 minutes. The system will not raise another alert since the original alert is still active in the system. For a second alert to be raised in this example, the first alert would have needed to be actioned or dismissed.

Door Sensor Alerts

There are two types of alerts available for door sensors. At any point the AVERio system can show both these alerts at the same time if each alert is enabled and the criteria is met.

Rule 1: Alert if the door is opened between two configurable times:

An alert will be raised each time the door is opened between the two configurable times, providing there is no pending/active alert for this specific rule.

Rule 2: Alert if the door is left open for a configurable duration between two configurable times:

An alert will be raised each time the door is left open for the configurable duration between the configurable times, providing there is no active/pending alert for this specific rule.

Smoke Alarm Alerts

An alert will be triggered each time the smoke alarm is activated providing there are no current pending alerts for the smoke alarm.

SOS Button Alerts

An alert will be triggered each time the SOS button is pressed providing there are no current pending alerts for the SOS button.
